Remy, 6 months

Little Remy came to us as a 6 month old rescue, ready to take on the world. For those of you unfamiliar with the Papillon breed, their ears are big and resemble a butterfly. Hence, the name Papillon which is French for butterfly. They were originally bred as ratters, although too small to kill a rat. It is said that the breed would tire a rat to death by exhausting it in every way possible. With that strong instinct, this breed makes a very hard-working dog whether it be in scent detection work or search and rescue. Don’t let the size fool you! The Papillon is also known for being a large breed trapped in a tiny body. Appearances are certainly deceiving with this breed, and although they may look like a “foofy” breed, they are anything but. The hair is wash and go, with just a quick two-minute brush per day. And he may even hop in the shower with you for a quick wash!

Remy is the perfect size to get in, on, and under places where a bigger dog may miss. He is also a perfect little traveling size, and thoroughly enjoys the company of humans. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention that he has stolen all of our hearts, and steals the hearts of everyone he encounters. An intense worker, a perfect size, a stellar temperament, an excellent nose, and cute as a button. Remy is a true gem!
