At American Tactical K9 Solutions (ATK9S), we do things a little bit differently. We know that the mainstream, run-of-the-mill, typical way of training a scent detection dog is seriously lacking in its performance … especially once the dog is handed over to its new handler.

At ATK9S, not only do we understand the dog’s powerful nose, we also have a deep understanding of dog behavior and what motivates them to work for humans… WITHOUT FORCE! Our dogs work because they WANT to work… not because they are afraid not to work… and certainly not because they will starve if they don’t work. This leads to happier dogs and BETTER RESULTS! Sadly, many companies are training little working machines in very inhumane ways. And at the end of the day… those little four-legged working machines are locked away.. only to begin another day to do it all over again. I hesitate to think about what happens to those dogs when their work is done.
